-I love teaching! There is nothing more rewarding than being able to watch my students grow and celebrate their accomplishments throughout the day and school year. Every day brings a new adventure, and my students always bring a smile to my face and brighten my day.
This is my twenty-third year of teaching fourth grade at Balboa. Before that, I taught for eight years at Canterbury Avenue Elementary in Arleta. I was born and raised in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. Most of my family still live there so I try to visit every year. I love to share all things Hawaiian with my students. I studied at Smith College in Massachusetts where I earned a degree in History, and I obtained my teaching credential from San Francisco State University. During my free time, I enjoy gardening, bicycling, cooking, and baking. I am on a quest to find the perfect snickerdoodle recipe. I have spent years trying to replicate LAUSD's famous coffee crumb cake! I love trying all the different cuisines that Los Angeles has to offer. |
